HP Smart Install on Linux

Greetings.

We have trouble on Linux (Debian) with HP LJ Pro M401d and HP LJ Pro M127fw. They work fine after adding them for some time, but after unknown event we can't print anymore. M401d have the latest firmware. We checked a lot of stuff, but now suspecting the HP Smart Install option, because we stumbled on very similar description on the web: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=208508

So now the problem is, that neither M401d, nor M127fw have needed menu options on the control panel. We tried web interface for M127fw, but there was no such an option and M401d doesn't have network. Then I tried windows HP Smart Install Utility, but this utility can't discover any of them, with or without installed driver for windows.

Last options are hp-doctor and lsusb -s from https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/howtos/other

But lsusb will only show the state of option, not change it. Tried latest hplip for any hint of Smart Install functionality, but couldn't find any. Also couldn't find the SmartInstallDisable-Tool mentioned there.

I will update this post with hp-doctor results and lsusb check.

In the meantime if anyone have advice, I would be grateful.

Thanks.
