I have passed your message to the Warranty Enablement Team, which can provide interim manual reports so you can manage your HP fleet while the Warranty API is retooled.
Forwarded message to Europe rep on the Warranty Enablement Team
Hello Nicolas,
I am the Dev Portal editor. I have redirected your inquiry to the Warranty Enablement Team. The European representative should be in touch with you this week.
API not available yet, but HP can run a manual report
Hello Erik,
The revised Warranty API is not available yet. Here at the Developers' Portal (and HP Client Management forum), we do not have visibility into the API roadmap, so we cannot tell you when it will return. In the mean time, if what you need is a fresh Warranty Report, we can run a manual report (from a .csv file) so you can manage your HP fleet. Would you like a manual report, or would you rather wait for the return of the API?
Is there any update on this? We are an MSP that manages 100s of clients. Trying to manually get warranty information takes forever and the bulk lookup through an HP account manager is not helpful due the large number of clients that we manage.
This is starting to take off quite a bit! In June my company had the "joint purchase agreement" for 8 municipalities in Norway out for tenders and HP won. We currently have about 30.000 clients and we will be migrating many of our clients to HP now very soon. We are currently using Dell and Lenovo REST API and are very pleased with their solution, so it is very sad that HP's warranty API still does not work. WE NEED THIS!!
Your message has been received at the Dev Portal, and I forwarded it to the team working on the API. I also alerted the Warranty Enablement Team, which can provide you with manual reports until the Warranty API returns -- which it will.
I am working as an Asset Manager for an account that has over 20,000 HP Computers in the asset repository without the Warranty End Date, and they have asked me to fill in this information as soon as possible. Who can I contact to get help regarding this matter before the API gets fixed. Any support will be greatly appreciated.
Hello, I have a desperate need for this API. I have roughly 100K machines that need warranty information and no way to get it at this time. When will the API be up or is there another way someoene can provide me that data if I can provide the serial numbers to check?
If the Warranty API isn't going to be available in the very near future, can you please publish a point of contact (email, telephone number) for the team that we should be going to for manual warranty lookups in the meantime? Clearly manual lookups aren't a perfect solution to the problem, but for a lot of people, they'd probably work as a sticking plaster until we are closer to a fix for the API. I think a lot of people would be more sympathetic about the delays experienced in getting the API back up and running again if a workaround was more readily available.
If needed, please share my contact details with the Warranty Enablement Team and ask them to contact me directly, but I'm sure there are lots of others out there who would appreciate a point of contact for this.
The Warranty API was HP's most popular API by far - more popular than the beta could handle. We won't be publishing a contact point for Manual Warranty Reports because they would also be swamped by the demand. However, I can now tell you that beta testing of the new API is in the works. The Warranty API will be owned by HP's Tech Pulse DaaS team. This is a proper place for the API to land for its long-term evolution. They will announce the return date. (I have no insights into their roleout for General Availability.)
Yes, you will have to register with the Tech Pulse team in order to get warranty data back. See my side email for how you can get on the notification list for the new Warranty API.
I first started contacting HP about this in 2019 and was told it would be resolved quickly. It is now 2021 and I still do not have access. How do I get in contact with the TechPulse team to get more information and to be put on a list of people interested?
I've been paying attention to this since it broke in 2018/2019. It's 2021 and it's still broken? Most of the competitors have something in place to allow some sort of lifecycle management with api warranty information. Someone reached out to me in 2020 then ghosted me, go figure. Quality service delivered by HP to the end users.
When your Jan. 11 message came into the Dev Portal, I forwarded it to the Warranty Enablement Team, which recognized your name and company. They report that Gilead is on the list of companies to be notified when the new Warranty API clears beta testing (happening now) and is released by the HP TechPulse team as part of the suite of Proactive Management Services. (The Warranty API will be bundled with many other services.) Wendy, the person who contacted you in 2020, confirmed that you are in the queue for notification when the Warranty API returns. Here at the Developers Portal, we cannot say when that will be. Of course, I will again forward your message on to the API product manager. As API advocates, we want HP businesses to hear the "voice of the customer."
It's been a long time since this API is not working. I can't understand the reason why a provider like HP is not providing this kind of tool to the customers. For any company like us managing thousands of devices it's a must having this information from HP, in the same way we have from other providers like DELL. Is there any plan to release the API?
One more waiting in the line...we manages more than 100k HP devices, and this is becoming a real problem. It is almost unbelievable that the API has been down for almost two years.
I really need to get on the notification list asap
As a managed print service provider this is causing issues on us tracking warrant of customer printers. I've just filled out the request at the below site but wondering how long this will take (not pushing for it to be completed asap but curious if there is an SLA). Would also like to be added to added to any communication list to be kept inform of any progress of the API being brought back into service.
As Developer Portal editor, I have forwarded your two messages to the person handling requests from Europe and to the person managing the new Warranty API's beta testing.
please please set me on the List to get an Info when the API will be avialiable.
I have a workaround with a powershell script that opens a browser and get over WMI the Serial Number and put it in the Homepage and parse the warranty date out of it.
I am forwarding your request. The right people will see your request in their email, and they will add you for notification. (As portal editor, I do not know the schedule for the new Warranty's beta testing.)
I have forwarded your request to the Warranty Enablement Team with a copy to the Tech Pulse product manager. You are on the notification list for when the API clears beta testing. (No date for General Availability has been announced.)
Hello Sofyane, The new-and-improved Warranty API is in beta testing with several enterprise customers. (No date for General Availability has been announced.) I have forwarded your request to the Warranty Enablement Team with a copy to the Tech Pulse product manager. You are on the notification list for when the API clears beta testing.

I see that you're now in beta testing for the new one. Would it be possible to be added to the test group? I asked for this back in October of 2019 and my company is still struggling without this capability. please let me know if i can join the beta test. Thank you!
Hazee, the beta test is not open to additional users. However, I will forward your request to both the HP TechPulse team, which is working on the new API, and the Warranty team that can add your name to the notification list. They will contact you when the new API is available, likely later this year.

Still no information regarding the reactivation of the API?
Can you give us a resolution date?
Hello Nicolas,
I am the Dev Portal editor. I have redirected your inquiry to the Warranty Enablement Team. The European representative should be in touch with you this week.
This api has been down for over a year. Is there any update, or viable alternative for bulk lookups?
I would like API access as well.

Hello
When we will be able to get some feedback regarding this issue?
It has been down for some time now.
As customers we are all entitle to, at least, get some feedback and an ETA.
Thanks
Lionel

Dear Warren,
If the API is still not available - who do I email a list of serial numbers to - to get back warranty details - i.e. to do a manual report?
Kindest regards
