This is very frustrating. Who is writing the code of the API? George RR Martin? Without the API we can't integrate warranty information for our HP servers in our DCIM solution. That doesn't encourage us to increase pour HPE footprint.
I am the Dev Portal Editor. You mentioned checking the warranty on your HP servers. Servers are now made by Hewlett Packard Enterprise. (The companies split in 2015.) This Developers Portal is the right place to check PCs, workstations, monitors and printers. I am getting reports of progress on the return of the Warranty API, but no target date has been announced.
I understand that you are the Portal Editor and not part of the Warranty Team. However what I do not understand is why you can not reach out to someone from that team since you are working in the same company and can see how much frustration there is on this subject for several years. There must be a Project Manager behind this Implementation that could give you an estimate. At the moment it seems that all our comments are in vain and it just brings us more frustration and makes us recommend other manufacturers for future purchases to our clients.
I assure you that in my role as Dev Portal editor, I have passed many, many messages through to whichever team was going to manage the Warranty API. I will now forward your message on to the Customer Service & Support team as being representative of the IT Service companies that are waiting expectantly for the API's return. To help them gauge the magnitude of DXC's interest, how many of your customers have HP devices in their fleets. Can you provide an estimate of the collective number of HP devices? (If you don't wish to post that number here, you can send it to me at hpdevelopers@hp.com. I assure you that many of the messages posted here have been passed along, but I am not in a position to answer for the teams.)
The API itself must be working as you can perform the lookup via the web page for single and multiple products, however due to the google recapcha that has been added, im guessing to prevent script access, then it can not easily be scripted.
A whole new solution could have been written from scratch in the 3 years it has taken so far.
for three years, I am hearing the same song you (and other HP forum moderators) are only the messenger and cannot speak for the team. But what about talking to the team and getting a response from them? Don't they have managers responsible for the project and can speak for themselves? They should be able to give at least a message like
Yes, we are working on it, and we'll expect a beta on xx.xx.xxxx and the release on yy.yy.yyyy
Yes, we would like to work on it, but we don't have the resources, money, etc...
No, we are not working on it, and we will not re-establish the API anymore.
It is really embarrassing for HP not to have a better reply. For us, as a developer for a network discovery solution that supports many vendors, including their warranty APIs, customers are asking us all the time why the HP warranty collection is disabled! I just point them to this solution and tell them that other vendors have those APIs in place! I don't know whether this affects their decisions about what laptops, printers, or other devices to buy. But it is really sad that HP is not able to get such a warranty API implemented for more than three years having in mind that you had it before! So the data should be there!
If this really is something that is being worked on can I please be added to the notify list. We have an opportunity for a 500 laptop renewal and having to do this manually is daunting to the point of giving up!
I also need to access the warranty information on hundreds of HP devices. If the API isn't going to be working anytime soon is there a way to email a csv across to HP for them to retrieve the info for us. That would be at least something.
Hello, last year i was in contact with a member of your team and send him my serials to get the warrenty data. i think he is not working anymore for you. can you please contact me or give me a contact where i can send my serials as csv to get my warrenty data back? that would be nice. best regrads george
When is this going to be available? I would like to integrate warranty information with my SMA, but this has been down now for 3 years. It was supposed to be a temporary outage.

Warren,
Please put me on the notification list for warranty API access.
Thanks

There should be an estimate on when the API will be back online!
It has been taking too long!
Hi
Can you please add my name to the notification list as well?
thx

A really disappointed ex-HP employee...
