Get status of LaserJet Pro M405d using dot net code

I need to get the status of the printer using my C# app and I desperately tried using WMI and reading the spooler, all values are false. They are not being updated by the printer. However, the status is showing in HP Smart. So how we’re supposed now to read the status from the printer?

I found ZERO resources about this which is completely disturbing and this forum is my last resort or else we’ll lose a big printing project bid.
