Jobs api

Hi there,

I want to connect via Postman, Visual Studio or via de HP Developers forum to our environment to use the Jobs API. Unfortunately I keep getting the message '401 Unauthorized'. I have use the existing Key/secret and also created a new one.

Is there something I am missing?

The PrintBeat Jobs API

The PrintBeat Jobs API application needs to be enabled through the PrintOS Marketplace before any calls to the API will work.  If you haven't already started a trial through the PrintOS Marketplace you can go there to go through the process of getting your account enabled.

If you are having issues getting your trial started, or have questions about any of the PrintOS Marketplace applications please contact your HP Sales representative for additional information.

If you have signed up for PrintOS PrintBeat Jobs API and are still getting this error check that your Key/Secret has the "Jobs Enquiries" role assigned to it.  If you've been using this Key/Secret for another of the PrintOS APIs, it likely does not have the correct role.

Also note that your devices will need to be setup and registered, and you will most likely need to update the software on your Digital Front End in order to pull the full set of data from the PrintBeat Jobs API.   Please refer to the supported devices link in the PrintOS marketplace to ensure you have devices that are supported with this application.

Please let us know if you are still having issues after this.

Error 401, not authorized

Hello,

I'm getting the same problem. PrintOs works, Job Enquiries is selected. Devices are setup and registered.

401

401 can be cause by an invalid HMAC authentication token or because the application hasn't been properly enabled.  Please check the following:

Is the Print Beat Jobs API enabled properly in your account?

  • Do you have at least one supported device connected to PrintOS and feeding data into the API?  You can check compatibility of your devices in the PrintOS Marketplace here:  https://www.printos.com/jobs/#/compatibility
  • Have you started a trial or subscription of the Print Beat Jobs API?  The API will not be queryable until you have started your trial or subscription.  (Note:  It is  recommended that you make sure your devices are compatible and any software updates that are required are done before starting your trial).
  • Setup a new connector in the Marketplace Connectors tab.  Make sure this connector is generated under the Jobs application with the Jobs Equiries role.   Once you've created this custom connector find it in the Connectors tab and copy the Key/Secret to the application you are using to make queries.
  • If you've done the above and are still getting 401 errors then the HMAC authentication token is most likely being generated incorrectly.   Please let me know what application  you are using to generated the authentication and we can work from there.

Check Marketplace

Have you already enabled the The PrintBeat Jobs API application in the marketplace? If you haven't done it, it will not work.

Cheers
