Introduction to HP Proactive Insights APIs

An API for everything.

The HP Proactive Insights APIs are RESTful web APIs that enable you to write your own code to access your data, reports, and incidents in the HP Proactive Insights platform. After you go through the app registration process and get authentication tokens for a user or service, you can make requests to the HP Proactive Insights APIs.

 

How do I access the HP Proactive Insights APIs?

  1. Ensure Eligibility:
    • You must be an HP Proactive Insights customer.
    • The Report Admin role must be assigned to the same email address that will be used to create an account at developers.hp.com.
  2. Create an Account:
  3. Request API Access:
    • Sign into your HP Proactive Insights account at www.hpdaas.com.
    • Navigate to Help & Support and click on the Request button under Email.
    • Complete the Subject and Description fields and click on the Submit button.
    • Your request will be processed within 48 hours.
  4. Register Your App:
    • Once your access is granted, register an app for the "HP Proactive Insights Analytics API" on developers.hp.com.
  5. App Approval:
    • Wait for your app to be approved after submission.
  6. Start Using the API:
    • Follow the tutorial on Accessing the API with Postman to get started with making API calls.
 
What data is specifically available in the APIs? 

All reports and incidents available in HP Proactive Insights are available in the APIs.

There are no special features or datasets only available in the APIs.

The APIs provide simple programmatic access to the items you see in HP Proactive Insights.
